What exactly is a "life coach?" Who do you work with?
A life coach is a professional who helps clients create and achieve their most meaningful and important goals. I offer these services to individuals and small groups. While I am happy to work with anyone who is motivated, my clients tend to be overachieving professionals, members of the academic/environmental community, and people looking for richer, more,successful, purpose-driven lives.
What’s the difference between therapy and life coaching?
Therapists focus on mental health and emotional healing, while life coaches focus on setting and achieving goals. Therapists tend to focus on the past, while life coaches focus on the present and future. Therapy and coaching can often complement and build on each other.
How would we work together?
In 1 hour sessions—your choice of phone, video, or in-person if you are local. I am also available in-between sessions as necessary. The structure typically looks like this:
Check-in and follow up on the previous session
Explore and articulate new goals
Create an action plan with accountability
Anticipate roadblocks and institute proactive solutions
